Tie-Dye Jeans

tie dye jeansI’m not a big fan of the tie dye look, whether for women’s jeans or for anything else for that matter, including tops, dresses and jackets. I think that tie dye creates a fussy, cluttered look and I prefer a clean look. I also think that tie dye demands a lot of attention and distracts from the wearer and from appreciating your look as a whole.

Plus, just like any other print, tie dye print can add pounds visually – the jeans on the left (featured on starstyleinc.com) are the exact opposite in terms of how they look than, say, a pair of classic dark wash denim.

In other words:
THESE JEANS WILL MAKE YOU LOOK FAT.

Of course, the fact that I’m not a fan of tie dye jeans doesn’t seem to make the fashion world, or celebrities, dislike the look too. Tie dye denim looks are everywhere, and the trend doesn’t seem to be cooling off (I thought it might cool off for the winter).I can’t deny that it’s an interesting look that makes a strong statement – but it’s also one of those looks that is “current” now, but very soon will look dated and “so yesterday.” Personally, I prefer a more classic, timeless look.
