I used to think you need to be skinny in order to be able to pull this look off, but now I’m thinking, looking good in white jeans isn’t so much about skinniness as it is about a fabulous cut and the right denim material.
As far as women’s jeans go, and I realize we haven’t discussed that yet and perhaps we should discuss it in a separate post, cut and material are super-important. So, the same pair of jeans could look really unflattering if they’re made from a thick denim fabric, but fabulous if they are made from something more delicate and stretchy.
Back to white denim. I now own a pair, and let me tell you, I look fabulous in them, if I do have to say so myself. And if you’ve been reading this blog, you know I’m not a tiny size 0. I’m a substantial size 10. My secret for looking good in white jeans? I found a boot cut pair that has some stretch in it. So it actually flatters the body instead of adding inches.
If you don’t own a pair of white jeans, or if you’re horrified at the very idea, I strongly suggest that you go to a store and just try them on. See how they look on you. You never know – you could be surprised.
