Denim shorts are tricky. They can be seriously hot, but you must have great legs to be able to pull this look off.
I repeat: great, toned, tan legs (a fake tan is fine!) are a must before even considering putting on a pair of jean shorts.
Me? I don’t wear them. At a size 8-10 and legs that are not that toned nor tanned, I just don’t feel the look is very flattering on me so I avoid them. I did use to wear denim shorts when I was younger and thinner. I always say it’s important to dress according to how you look NOW, not how you used to look. So I try to follow my own advice.
Of course, everything I said about jean shorts is even more true for daisy dukes, which are an extremely short, form-fitting or cut-off version of denim shorts. These are only reserved to the most fabulously toned women, and even then, wearing them may be sending out the wrong message – I mean, if you want to be taken seriously, or if you want people to look you in the eyes rather than check out your body, daisy dukes are probably not the best choice for you.
