Trouser Jeans and Wearing Jeans to Work

trouser-jeansWhether you can wear jeans to work depends on where you work. In a casual office, wearing jeans is fine, as long as you avoid ripped, torn or heavily distressed jeans and instead go with dark wash, tailored, well-fitted trouser jeans.

Women’s trouser jeans are women’s jeans that are cut trouser-style, which means they have a more tailored, elegant look than most jean styles. They are actually quite flattering: they fall in a straight line from hip to toe, and so they give your legs a longer, leaner look. In addition, since trouser jeans tend to come in a darker wash, that creates a leaner silhouette too.

Trouser jeans often have a crease in the front and need to be ironed after you wash and dry them. They tend to have a high waist – make sure it’s not too high though, since a very high waist is sometimes unflattering.

How should you wear trouser jeans? If you wear them for work, pair them with a blouse (tuck the blouse inside the jeans) and a pair of moderately high heeled pumps. If you wear them outside of the office, pair them with a form-fitting top (again, tucked inside the jeans) and strappy sandals.
